Nominations for the awards are due for the period of September 30, 2015, to September 30, 2016.
Sports council secretary Julie Fuller said it is important to recognise local athletic achievements.
“Even if you have not been nominated in any of the monthly awards we still need your nominations,” she said.
“We have so much sporting talent in Glen Innes and it needs to be recognised.
“We get such great results such as excelling in athletics even though we don’t have a proper track for our athletes to train on.”
Mrs Fuller said the evening is always enjoyable.
“The sports awards night is always a good event,” she said.
“Athletes from across all sports get together and relax, tell a story or two and maybe share training tips.
“The awards are always well received and the sports council does work hard to benefit sports in Glen Innes.”
Sports council treasurer Graham Archibald said the funds raised from the evening go to promoting sports in Glen Innes.
“The committee runs as a volunteer organisation and all monies that we raise gets put back into Glen Innes sport,” he said.
“The sports council believes in supporting our local athletes and sporting groups and evenings like the awards night give public recognition for all the hard work that goes into sports in the region.”
The categories for the awards are broken into individual and team awards.
The Individual categories are; sub-junior, junior, senior and masters and team awards are also broken into sub-junior, junior and senior categories.
Other awards that will be handed out on the night include The Col Hill and Kerrie Floyd service to sport and the Lionel and Joyce Short awards, the Gordon Creighton memorial award is also on offer on the night as well as an Icon award.
Tickets will be available at the services club from November 3.
The sports council will also be running a barefoot bowls fundraiser to help local athletes with funds to get to sporting events.
The event will happen in December and details will be announced.
