My Joyce said community radio was more important than ever in rural and remote areas and congratulated 2CBD’s board for their commitment to the area.
“Setting up this facility for the price that it was set up for is a complete endorsement of regional people and their focus on getting this done,” he said.
“The reason that locals wanted to get this running is because the fourth estate is so vitally important to democracy and my party, the Nationals believe very strongly in regional broadcasting so locals can get the local information that they need and want.”
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall said he was impressed with the facility and offered his assistance for future funding endevours.
Glen Innes Severn Council Mayor Steve Toms said council was happy to provide a grant of $25,000 towards the redevelopment of 2CBD.
“It is great to see the achievement of the 2CBD Board and presenters, a volunteer body, providing community radio to Glen Innes Severn residents”
