Motoring enthusiasts will travel from as far afield as the Sunshine Coast to take part in this year’s Ford vs Holden Show and Go.

The event is a highlight of Glen on Wheels.
Ford vs Holden is in its 13th year and is also an opportunity for local car owners to show off their vehicles.
The show starts at 8am on Saturday, November 5 at King George Oval.
Entry forms are available from Grey Street Spare Parts at 139 Grey Street.
Other attractions at the event include the Glen Gallop Fun Run and Walk.
Registrations will take place from 8am on Sunday, November 6 at the King George Oval in Wentworth Street.
Participants can choose either a five or 10-kilometre circuit.
Entry is $5 per person or $20 for a family; you can download entry forms at gleninnestourism.com
The Glen Garden Club will hold its annual cut flower show on Saturday at the Glen Innes Community Centre.
Dot Vickery from Guyra will judge the blooms.
“This is iris season, so we’re expecting quite a few of those, but also roses are popular and there is a class for pot plants at this year’s show,” club secretary Veronica McNamara said.
“There’s a class for absolutely everything.”
Judging will be on flowers that have good blooms and roses in their three stages.
Entry costs $2.
TUG-O-WAR FUN
The Northern New England Tug-o-War titles will be held at the King George Oval on Saturday, with weigh-in time at 9am for a 10am start.
The Ferguson Cup Open weight has a 640 kilogram weight division (eight men-women).
POKER RUN AN ACE
The Poker Run will be held a short while after, with the Glen Innes Motor Sports Club 1/8 Mile side by side Drag Racing hogging the limelight on Sunday.
This will be held at Glen Innes Airport with scrutineering of cars beginning at 8am for a 10am start. Entry fees apply.
Glen Innes tourism and events manager Peter Teschner said festivals and events such as Glen on Wheels were critical to any country town’s economy and future.
