Redál promises local music fans a night of musical nostalgia with a plenty of songs to dance to in his set.
“The show is called the Shadows In The Night and it is celebrating the music of The Shadows,” he said.
“The Show starts 8pm in the main auditorium so there will be time for people to have a meal beforehand and make a night of it.
“The Shadows were an iconic band especially in the late fifties and early sixties.
“They arrived just before the Beatles and they had a style and class above all other instrumental bands at the time in my opinion.”
Redál said the show will also have a few extra’s thrown in for the Glen Innes audience.
“So this show is all about bringing the sound, fun and excitement from that period,” he said.
“I have a cracker of a band, and together as ‘Vinnie and The Cuban Missiles’ we’ll bring plenty of energy and life into playing their music, you’ll hum the melodies and you don’t need the words.
“Plus you never know we might throw in a surprise or two, I’m sure a few Rockabilly songs might fit in somewhere on the night.
“It will be an opportunity to enjoy a style of music from a bygone era.”
The sounds of the electric and Flamenco guitar is what inspired Redál to start playing guitar at 13 years of age.
“Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Shadows and Flamenco guitarist’s like Sabicas and Paco de Lucia all inspired me to pick the guitar up,” he said.
“I just loved the sounds they all came out with. I found it very inspiring, I just had to try and learn it.”
The local guitar slinger believes the eclectic mix of influences has made him a more interesting guitar player.
“Because there were so many influences I suppose my style is a mixture of a few things,” he said.
“Rockabilly, early sixties instrumental and blues rock get thrown in.
“So I guess you could say I’m a Retro Rockabilly/ Progressive instrumental Rock guitarist… how’s that for a style.”
