The Club Hotel went into bat first and looked all at sea against the classy Emmaville bowling attack.
Regular wickets fell in their innings and they eventually posted a total of eight for 71.
Glen Innes Cricket Association spokesman Mark Jacobs said Emmaville’s bowlers gave no easy runs to their opponents.
“They bowled really tightly and aggressively,” he said.
“Emmaville showed they were a class above the Club Hotel, they restricted runs by taking wickets and that is always the best way to do it.”
Jacobs said the Emmaville openers never looked like losing their wickets.
“They went out and played an innings that you would expect them to play, they really had no pressure put on them at all,” he said.
“The Club Hotel bowled very erratically but young Jay Speedy looked good, maybe he should have bowled more overs.
“Andrew Hodgson got 29 not out and Ian Law got a very well compiled 31 not out, getting 12 or so extras from the bowlers made it easy for them really.”
Emmaville Captain Andrew Symons said the team had to play well to win.
“In the end we had a fairly comfortable win, we were expected to win but we still had to play well,” he said.
“The boys played well as a team, the bowlers had a plan to be tight and considering we only fielded with eight players and then added two late comers we also fielded really well.
“It was interesting setting fields with only eight fielders, there were a lot of gaps but thankfully the bowlers bowled well and kept a steady flow of wickets going which made it easier to contain the runs.”
Symons said once the total was set the opening batsmen set a plan and played it to perfection.

“Our batsmen played responsibly and comfortably and in the end they did it very easily,” he said.
“They didn't want to go out all guns blazing, they set a goal to bat the whole innings out which they did.
The game was played in good spirits by both sides.”
