Christmas can be a wonderful time of year when we can get together with those we love and celebrate with whatever traditions we have built up over the years.

In my house that includes eating far to much, and an afternoon of back yard cricket. But my favourite part of Christmas day has always been presents.
Like most kids, I couldn’t wait to see what I was being given. In fact I often didn’t wait! Instead I would spend the weeks before Christmas poking around in mum and dad’s room hoping to get a sneak peak at what was going to be under the tree come Christmas day.
I’ve been given some great presents over the years, but my favourite of all is the one which God gave all of us on that very first Christmas. That gift is Jesus, God’s great king who came to bring hope and life to a dark and messed up world. Listen to what Jesus says about why he came.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus didn’t come to make us religious. He didn’t come to bring judgement. Jesus came so that we could know God’s perfect love and enjoy it forever.
That is the great gift that we celebrate at Christmas.
That is the gift that God holds out to you. We’d love you to join us at Holy Trinity as we celebrate God's great gift to us this Christmas.
