The truck, which is carrying a massive turbine component, broke down on Monday afternoon.
Glen Innes Severn Council Director of Infrastructure Services, Keith Appleby is on the scene and said the road will be unusable until after 7am Tuesday morning when a crane will be used to lift the load and move the vehicle.
“They had a failure with the truck and we’re just trying to organise traffic control at the moment,” Mr Appleby said.
“The crane operator is here now.
“We’ll turn traffic around [at the crest of Grafton Road].”
The cause of the breakdown is not yet known.
Motorists are being asked to seek an alternate route.
More to come.
