The local branch managed to raise more than $50,000 in the past 12 months, St Patrick’s Conference member Kerry Muir said.
“All of what we get here is donated from the Glen Innes community,” Mr Muir said.
“We are very grateful to our Glen Innes community for the support that they give us and we couldn’t do what we do if they didn’t donate.
“Also to our volunteers, we are very grateful and we are always looking for new volunteers to join us.”
The money raised is used to help more than 170 families in the community.
“In the last 12 months we are helping 177 families in the district and that includes Deepwater and Emmaville,” Mr Muir said.
“The sort of help that they come for is food as well as electricity and we also help people if they have to go to the doctors out of town and need fuel money.
“About 11 per cent of people we see are termed homeless and so many of them come to us to get help with rent.”
The team also get vouchers from Telstra as part of its social responsibility to communities.
