The inaugural Poker Finals were held at the Services Club on Sunday, with Lisa Joyce being named the 2016 Poker Champion.

Twenty-nine players from Glen Innes, Inverell and Armidale played for the $10,000 prize.
Glen Innes Services Club general manager Pat Lonergan said the event was a great success.
“This was the first time that we’ve had a major tournament like that,” he said.
“They play for points every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and the top 30 go into the final.
“Everyone who participates support us exceptionally well.”
Prize money was split between the top nine players who reached the final table.
The final table players in finishing order were Lisa Joyce, Nicolas Levy, Brett Nicolson, Mick Moroney, Luke McCowen, Peter Alt, Ben Tremain, Phill Elliott and Cheryl Penn.
Mr Lonergan said the club was happy with the success of poker in the 2016 year and looked forward to 2017.
