The giant tower was raised last week and now awaits the blades which will be lifted on shortly, conditions permitting.
The blades weigh around 15 tonnes and are 59.5 metres in length, making them the biggest wind turbine blades in Australia to date.
In addition to the recent progress, a new proposal for some modifications is also on exhibition and is currently available for community consultation.
The proposed modifications for the wind farm, which is located around 20km west of Glen Innes, includes the construction and operation of a new 132 kilovolt electricity transmission line extending approximately 13km west of the project site.
Modifications also include a new switchyard and substation to connect the 132 kilovolt transmission line to the grid.
A spokesperson for the Department of Planning and Environment said that the Glen Innes community always had an opportunity to share their views and are now invited to contribute and give feedback on the proposed modification.
“Community consultation is an integral part of the planning process and the applicant will have to respond to the feedback we receive,” the spokesperson said.
“This feedback is taken into consideration as part of the assessment.
“It’s easy to participate by going online and we encourage everyone to take a look and have their say.”
If you would like to make a submission or view the modification application and accompanying documents visit www.majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au.
Submissions can be made between Tuesday, January 24 and Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
Some deliveries of the turbine components have been on hold during the Tamworth Country Music Festival but are expected to now resume as normal.
