Gourmet Fiesta Committee president Phil Lynn said it was an honour having gourmet chef Belinda Jeffery on board, showcasing her culinary skills to the public at this year’s Glen Innes Show.
“One of the really interesting places to visit at the Glen Innes Show is the Gourmet Fiesta marquee,” Mr Lynn said.
Belinda is a well-known author of many books.
She also writes for magazines and has a regular radio spot talking about what’s fresh and delicious in local north coast markets.
She has been a devotee to culinary excellence since childhood, and is a genuine lover of food.
Throughout her childhood and continuing into her current life, Ms Jeffery has just kept on cooking.
Over the years she has received numerous awards for her work including Desserts (Lantern Books) – Best Desserts book in Australia, Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, 2013 (France), The Country Cookbook (Lantern Books) – Best Easy Recipes book in Australia, Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, 2011 (France), The Country Cookbook (Lantern Books) – Short-listed to the final three for the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Cookbook Awards for 2011, Mix & Bake (Lantern Books) – Best Desserts Book, English, Rest of World, Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, 2007 (France), and several others.
Also Belinda Jeffery’s Tried-and-True Recipes (Viking), Belinda Jeffery’s Tried-and-True Recipes (Viking), Gold Ladle Award (1997), Bronze Ladle Award (1999) in the biennial World Food Media Awards for Best TV Food Show Segment within a Show.
During her association with the television show Better Homes and Gardens, she was part of the team which collected a string of Australian television industry awards, including five TV Week Logies for Most Popular Lifestyle Show, and two People’s Choice Awards.
“Not only will you see a variety of different food and wine stalls, you will have the special opportunity to sit down and watch different cooking demonstrations by the well known celebrity chef Belinda Jeffery,” Mr Lynn said.
“After you have had an interesting look at the many and varied specialty food and wine stalls at the Gourmet Fiesta marquee, take a seat and watch our special celebrity chef Belinda Jeffery cook up some exotic and exciting culinary dishes,” he said.
Mr Lynn said these shows are something not to be missed.
“Belinda has four cooking sessions, each for one hour starting at 2pm and 4pm Friday and Saturday,” he said.
