Usually an event drowned out by rain, this year saw the heat continue through the weekend, bathing showgoers in sunshine.

Storms blew in during two nights, but this didn’t have much impact on reducing show entry numbers.

Show public relations assistant Kate Dance said visitors numbers for the show were up significantly.

“Belinda Jeffery was the success we all believed she would be,” Ms Dance said.

Ms Dance made mention of how enthralled the crowds were as Ms Jeffery gave her demonstrations.

“Belinda was a great asset to the show,” she said.

"This year's show was a fabulous success.

“The support from the community was amazing in both participation on committees with set up, running events and dismantling of sections and the attendance at the show.

“We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone involved.

"Belinda Jeffery was a wonderful addition to the show program.

“She was a delightful guest chef who gave generously of her time when cooking and signing books.

“Belinda's food was delicious and truly enjoyed by the record numbers of viewers who watched her demonstrations,” Ms Dance said.

Show Society secretary Neale Royal said despite a storm on Saturday night, the show was a fabulous event.

Mr Royal was impressed with how well the show performed and the increase in people attending.

“We had a record number of exhibits in the stud cattle section,” Mr Royal said.

“There were 35 shearers in the shearing competition, and there were good numbers in the show jumping events,” he said.

“Our special events such as FMX Kaos and Walter Whip and the Flames were real crowd pleasers.

“The fireworks, presented by Graeme Quinn and Holy Smoke, was a fabulous display.

“There were good entries in all sections of the pavilions.

“Crowd numbers were great. Patrons through the gate being well up on last year,” he said.

A special auction of sheep drew a crowd as each section was awarded to local producers.

Entries in the pavilion exhibits showcased what the region has to offer.

The tea rooms gave the show a touch of old world charm, and the pavilions filled with produce showcased what the area has to offer.

Many visitors from other regions and centres mentioned how the Glen Innes Show shines out above the rest.
