This election is done by their peers and, once elected, captains play a vital role in supporting teachers and class members in sporting activities.
St Joseph’s principal Maria Mowle said St Joseph’s has a fine tradition of excellent school leaders.
“This year’s leadership upholds that tradition. We’re very proud of our school leaders, house captains and SRC’s and they represent the school with pride in the wider community,” Ms Mowle said.
They demonstrate and model excellent behaviour at all times.
The school house system is divided into three house teams. The teams are Fitzroy, Mackillop and Penola.
House captains this year at St Joseph’s are Kayne Campbell and Charlotte Doman for Fitzroy, Oliver Quinn and Charlotte Dunn for Mackillop and Lara Chard and Mason Skinner for Penola.
The school also elects SRC representatives at the beginning of the year.
Each these representatives helps the school with fresh new ideas for fundraising opportunities for their chosen charity for the year.
