Zone 13’s team of Glen Innes’ Edith Newbury, Sam Donnelly, Shannon Williamson, Brendon Weiss and Walcha’s Matthew Ireland ducked, weaved and sped their way to claim ribbons across multiple events at the Pony Club Combined State Championships.

Newbury’s best place at the event in Gravesend came in the diamond flag race where she finished second.
Williamson also snagged second in the diamond flag, third in the key hole and third in the campdraft.
Weiss finished with a second in the key hole.
Donnelly’s best sporting event was the diamond flag where he finished eighth.
Ireland finished in second in the three mug race, the bending and third in the campdraft. The zone’s chief instructor Belinda Williamson said it was an outstanding effort by all members.
“It is a credit to our Zone 13 riders to be bringing home individual awards within the top 10 of the best of NSW and Queensland. They represented our Zone with excellent horsemanship,” she said.
