Wet weather saw their second round match against the Blues cancelled before they had the scheduled bye in round three.
New England Rugby Union took a break over the Easter long weekend so it has been a long time between games for the local side but they are ready to play Robb College in Armidale on Saturday.
"It will be an interesting game,” vice-president Sam Price said.
"Hopefully we can field a full strength side and get a decent hit out.
"We will probably be a bit rusty this week, trying to bring the two teams together still.
"It will be a tough game but hopefully it will be a good hit out.
"We actually had the week off leading into Easter.
"Everyone is just getting into it now but before that we were training well.”
After the match against Robb, NERU takes another break for the Country Championships.
