The sale represented the third in the big four series of sales to be held at Glen Innes.
Livestock Specialist Contractor Brad Newsome said the yarding was again of outstanding quality and most of the weaners presented in forward condition showing the benefits of a very good season.
The champion pen of Hereford Steers and Heifers was sold by Ross & Diana Stewart of Vale View, Deepwater.
The E.U. accredited Steers made 411c/kg, weighing 332kg and realising $1366.99. The champion Heifers made 349c/kg and realised $1009.
The champion pen of Crossbred Steers was awarded to PM & EE Halloran for a pen of of Charolais Black Baldy cross Weaners which made 422c/kg, weighing 347kg and coming back at $1463.81.
The champion pen of crossbred Heifers was sold by Peter and Donna Stewart of The Vale, Deepwater, which made 368c/kg, weighing 329kg and realising $1210.15.
The sale averaged 390c/kg right through for Steers and Heifers with $1 per head average of $995.00.
“Buyers travelled from far and wide from three states with many repeat buyers attracted to the excellent quality on offer,” Mr Newsome said.
