The NetSetGo, run in its new position on the top court, was enjoyed by all with lots of excited little faces learning new skills along with a surprise visit from our Pink Panther mascot!
The Junior division opened on Court 1 with the Magpies 10 defeating the Firebirds 6 and Court 2 with Fever 3 just ahead of Vixens 1. The older girls of the division were a stand out with their mentoring and support towards the younger players in the teams.
Our Intermediate players participated in a round robin whilst we graded and finalised teams. With further registrations and lots of reshuffling this division is now set with some very enthusiastic team managers ready to take control.
The Open division began on Court 2 with returning team CRT narrowly defeating the newly formed Panel & Paint 25 to 24. Most Valuable Player went to new recruit Tayla Fuller for CRT and Jess Mepham for Panel & Paint.
The most thrilling game of the day was played out on Court 1 with the newly formed Col Say & Co overcoming the longest serving team Tavern 32 to 30. Mother daughter combination Jill and Elanore Malone proved too strong in the shooting circle while Carla Bryant returned very fit for the start of the season and teamed up well with Cass Jacobs showing great defence. Sal Floyd and Maggie Keelan took out MVPs.
Victorious Secret were too strong taking out their game 43 to 17 against the Rep team for the final match of the day on Court 2. Ruby Beatty received the MVP for her outstanding play all over the court while new comer to the game Courtney Wright used her height well and took out the MVP for the Rep team.
