Glen Innes netballers take on the wet weather

The wet weather didn’t put a dampener on our netballers’ weekend after the decision was made to play on. The newly resurfaced courts lived up to their expectations and remained safe for all-weather play.

In the Junior division Fever defeated Firebirds 4-0 with MVP awarded to Courtney McGuire and Maddison Prichard with her exceptional defence and shooting. Vixens defeated Magpies 8-2 in a fun game with MVP shared by Madison Ellis and Alison Lockwood. Masie Eastwood was also a standout helping Giants to a win over Swifts 14-8. Courtney Wright was the MVP for Swifts.

Our second Intermediate game played on Court 3 was abandoned at half time due to rain.  Isabella Vimpany showed great shooting early helping Lightning defeat Thunderbirds 10-3.

Emma Davey had an outstanding game again for Col Say & Co taking out the MVP for the second week in a row and contributing to a win against Panel & Paint 25-19.  It was no surprise to see Kristy Prichard also awarded MVP with her athleticism combined with her attacking and defensive skills.

Victorious Secrets were too strong for CRT winning 22-20. With MVPs going to both teams talented defence in Emily Burton and Sara Beatty. Tavern defeated Collingwood 46-15 with MVPs to Sal Floyd and Bridgette Beatty.
