Minor league teams earn wins

Glen Innes Minor League teams took to the field at home against Moree in wet conditions.

Under 8s

The day’s competition began with the under 8s.

They had a tough and tight game with all players playing extremely well to go down 20-16.

Noah Grob had an outstanding defensive game while Nashia Grob was excellent in first receiver.

Jayden Fuller and Toby Frendan were strong through the middle with Pat and Will Wright organising the defensive line to help keep a very strong Moree game at bay.

Great effort under 8s.

Junior league tag girls

In a tightly contested match, it was the hosts who got the points.

The girls defeated Moree 6-nil.

Refs points: Mia Baker 3, Brooke Klingner 2 and Tahlia Grob 1.

Under 10s

10s game up against a big Moree side, overwhelmed at the beginning.

The boys played well as a team and came out with a win 26-22.

This was due to a great defensive game, seeing the team tackling well around the legs and fantastic runs by Carter Ferris and Tyce McLaren.

Jake Rice and Sid O'Brien made an impact with some strong runs up the middle.

Tries: Ben Arandale (2) Tyce Mclaren, Riley Lightfoot and Ryan Tudor.

Refs Points: 3 George Chard and 1 Ben Arandale.

The under 10s currently sit third on the table.

Under 12s

The Under 12s once again showed their defense does win games beating Moree 50-0.

The boys again showed great team work to create tries from all over the park.

Well Done boys.

Refs Points: 3 Mitch Duddy and 1 Finn Saxon Dieban.

Their massive win puts them at first place on the Group 19 ladder.

They are equal with Inverell on points but the differential has them in front.

Senior league tag girls

It was a day of close games in the league tag with the senior team also securing a narrow win.

They managed to snag the win 6-nil.

Ref points: Taya Speedy 3 and Gabi Panebianco 1.

The girls are fourth on the table.

Under 14s

Plenty of points were scored in the under 14s game.

The boys finished ahead and defeated Moree 30-20 with Charlie Ralph receiving 3 points from ref and Jye Williams 1.

The under 14s team trail Inverell on the ladder, sitting in second place.

Under 16s

The under 16s were big winners and defeated Moree 40-6.

Refs Points went to Bayden Grob 3 and Corey Kennedy.

Their win keeps them at the top of the Group 19 junior rugby league ladder.
