Last week Glen Innes Public School hosted the Combined Schools children’s concerts as part of the Australian Celtic Festival. With children from Glen Innes Public School, St Joseph’s School, Red Range Public School, Glen West Infants School and Glen Innes High School, we saw over 550 children “tread the boards” for three magnificent concerts. Over 500 people came to see what a wealth of talent there is in our local schools.

As this year is the 25th anniversary of the Australian Celtic Festival, an extended program ran offering opportunities for children from Kindergarten to Year 12, to perform and shine. The songs and dances, both traditional or modern, were all in the tune of Ireland.
We would like to extend a special note of gratitude to Woolworths for donating refreshments to over 300 performers on Thursday night.
The schools were also involved in the opening ceremony at the Town Hall, offering the wider community a glimpse of their hard work and dedication.
