After a six-year break, the Glen Innes RSPCA hosted the walk which saw a variety of pooches roll-up with their owners to raise money and more importantly, awareness for what the local branch does in our community.
“It was really good,” RSPCA volunteer Judy Fraser said.
The local SES set up at the event and authors Mitch and Anne Winter with Fatty the Rat Rod made a special appearance with their 1950s truck.
Picture Perfect Pets’ Lilianne Kaufmann also swung by.
“It takes a lot of planning and organising prizes, raffles and all that kind of stuff so it was good to see people support it,” Mrs Fraser said.
“The main thing is that all the money we raise stays here in town – a lot of people think we have to send money to Sydney, which we don’t.
“All donations stay here helping the dogs and animals in our area.”
The group also said outgoings far exceeded what’s coming in – so all donations were vital for the group to assist local animals in need.
The local branch thanked everyone involved in the Million Paws Walk and those who donated.
