In the Junior division, the Vixens continued their winning streak with an 8-5 victory over Firebirds thanks to some brilliant attacking moves from Maisie Eastwood. As a newcomer this season, Sierra Donnelly is continually improving each week and quickly becoming a talented all-rounder player, taking out this week’s MVP with Maisie Eastwood.
On Court Two, the Magpies found their wings and were too strong for the Fever coming away with a 7-1 win. Bronte Ellis and Amber Bryant were awarded MVP’s.
In the Intermediate division, the Giants had a convincing victory over the Thunderbirds 34-6 cementing their spot on the top of the table at the end of round 7 with outstanding performances from Charli Lynn and Maisie Eastwood both awarded MVPs for the match.
Whilst the Swifts were too strong for Lightning in a close battle on the court, claiming a 17-10 win. MVPs went to Maddie Robinson and Louisa Beatty
In the Opens division, the ever improving young Collingwood team gave it their best and were unlucky to be defeated 28-17 by the experienced Panel and Paint. Summa Carpenter and Jess Trow were awarded MVPs.
A close battle was played out on Court 2 between top of the table Col Say and Co and CRT. Jo Wright was outstanding in defence and was awarded MVP for the match along with Eleanor Malone.
It was a nail-biter of a match between Tavern and Victorious Secret. Victorious Secret finished the first quarter with a convincing lead, however Tavern came fighting back in the second and the match was played goal for goal with Tavern narrowly claiming victory 41-39. MVPs were Kristen Lynn and Emily Burton.
Whilst there is no Saturday netball over the School holidays, we are fortunate enough to be hosting a clinic with Australian Diamonds players, Kim Ravaillion and Gretel Tippett on July 5th from 3.30-5.30pm for all netballers aged 9-18. And after months of preparation, we would like to wish the 13 and 14 year Representative teams good luck as they travel to Campbelltown this weekend for the 2017 State Age Championships.
