Charlie Sutton bought 200 beanies from the Mark Hughes Foundation’s Beanie For Brain Cancer campaign and players from the Magpies Minor League wore them on Saturday to raise awareness for the disease. 

Glen Innes held its last home game for the year on Saturday against Warialda. With perfect weather conditions our teams once again all played well. A huge thank you to Charlie Sutton who generously donated each player and committee member with a beanie to support the Mark Hughes Foundation’s Beanie for Brain Cancer. A special thank you to the awesome job of Penni Sloman who this year ran the canteen with great success and to all the people who helped out. Also to Heidi Grob who sold uniforms throughout the year. Also to all our helpers who set up the grounds, cleaned the grounds, helpers on the scoreboard and microphone giving us an update of the score. Everyone who helped throughout the year you made life easier for those on the committee. To our dedicated coaches, referees, lines people, FAO'S, league safe people thank you for volunteering your time, we are truly grateful.

JLT played well against a strong Warialda team with the final score 26-6 to Warialda. All players played well with Sophie Butterworth with 17 tags and Charli Elliott with 15 tags. The team points all came from Mia baker with a try and conversion. 

Under 8s had a great game coming out with a draw. Pat Wright was fantastic out of dummy half while Jaylan Fuller and Hunta Ferris played well in first receiver. Ella Bruce continues to improve and played a great defensive game. Tom had a great game at both ends of the field. All players continue to improve as the season comes to an end 

Under 10s played the game of the day. Heads were down a little with Warialda going in for two quick tries leading at half time 10-nil. Coaches talk at half-time and a few inspirational chats by A Grader Sam Schiffmann gave the 10s the belief they needed to come back winners 18-16. George Chard, Caleb Kemp, Carter Ferris and Ryan Tudor played outstanding in attack and defence, along with Sid Obrien, Jock Baker and Jake Bruce making the metres up the middle. Slippery dummy half play of Ben Arandale got the boys to the try line to see Carter Ferris over for their first try. Tries followed by Emory Levy Blair, Sidney Obrien and Ryan Tudor. Jake Bruce converted the try to put them in front. Referees points 3. George Chard 1. Sid Obrien. Coaches McDonald's vouchers to Jake Bruce, Lily Grieve, Toby Lamph, Dylan Chaffey and Riley Lightfoot.

Under 12s had another great effort beaten Warialda 36-6 the boys showed there versatility playing in positions that they were not use to playing a great team game well done boys The SLT girls came up against a very enthusiastic Warialda side on Saturday who threw everything at the young Magpies. However they showed great resilience and grit to tough out a good 10-6 victory.

Keisha Simpkins, Charlotte Love and Kiziah McLaren were strong making many metres in attack with Sarah Woolfe, Nhula Levy-Blair and Mackenzie Grob tagging everything they could get to. All girls played well and should be proud of their hard earned, team win.

Under 14s also turned on a beautiful display running out convincing winners 54-16. A wonderful game of straight up powerful running and strength in numbers. Superb effort from Connor O'Brien with 4 tries, Tom Matthewson with 2 and Cory McClelland, Harrison Grob, David Graham and Myles Williams all going over for a try each. Goal kicking was shared between Jack Hillier and Tom Matthewson coming up with 7 conversions. Other stand out players were Harry Lockyer, Luke Kiehne and Jye Williams.
