After a series of tough auditions, Jennifer Mackenzie was picked for the CAPERS production in Tamworth in November. (CAPERS is the biennial production involving public school children from the North West and New England areas in a spectacular production of music, dance, drama and visual arts).
Her dance teacher at Glen Innes High School, Lindy Alt, said: “Jennifer has only been dancing and singing since she started at Glen Innes High School in Year 7, so to have achieved so much in three and a half years is a testament to her talent and dedication.
“To be selected as a featured soloist in both music and dance is a very rare and prestigious thing for both Jennifer and the Glen Innes High School.”
She was also chosen to tour Europe for two weeks. Jennifer and the other members of the school dance group practice for many hours a week.
