They came up with a plan which was to get fuel and food vouchers, donated by local companies, and then to offer them as prizes in competitions at the Services Clubs. The tickets for the competitions would go to the Can Assist charity which aids cancer sufferers and their families.
Col Wallace from the Men’s Shed said he and his pals there raised $1,000 and the Lionesses raised about $9,000, adding up to $10,000 to the good cause.
