Two Glen Innes churches are to put on a week of entertainment for primary age children – with a ventriloquist as the star turn.
Ron Schravemade and his dolls, Will, and Ollie the ostrich will perform at the Anglican Church Hall on the corner of Meade Street and West Avenue from 9 am on Monday, September 25.
Ron told the Examiner that Will was “very mischievous.”
They are to be part of what the two churches call an “Adventure Zone” which will go through the week on mornings until Friday as the last session.
It’s free and open to all children of primary school age. Tea will be provided.
The Reverend Andrew Campbell of the Presbyterian Church said that the activities would be “unashamedly Christian but good fun”.
The ventriloquist would tell Bible stories through the voice of Will, the doll.”This is introducing kids to Jesus’, said Reverend Campbell, “the purpose of the week is to introduce the kids to Jesus with a lot of good fun”.
Apart from the ventriloquist, there will be games with prizes and creative activities.
