The Glen Innes Hospital Auxiliary raised around $50,000 in the latest year on record, according to its President, Jan Sharman.

She said the money had gone to provide “equipment that the government would never give for a small hospital.”

Volunteers have held raffles, baked cakes and staffed stalls.  Companies have given.

“The people of this town are very generous.  It’s a town effort for patients’ comfort.”

Among the items are a freezer for pathology.
