“A very pretty wedding ceremony was performed in Christ Church Dundee on Tuesday afternoon when Mr Emil T. Rees, third son of Mr and Mrs J. Rees of Dundee, and Miss Maude Jackson, eldest daughter of the late W. R. T. Jackson of Dumaresq and Mrs Jackson of the Dundee Railway Station were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by the Rev Canon Kemmis.

“The bride, who was given away by her uncle Mr J. Jackson, of Newcastle, looked sweet in a costume of white crepe-de-chine, with an overdress of shadow lace and ninon, and court train lined with shell pink; the bodice was also shadow lace worked beautifully and trimmed with pearls.

“She also wore a lovely lace veil, with wreath of orange blossoms and string of pearls in her hair. She carried a pretty bouquet of white flowers tied with white satin streamers and wore a diamond cluster ring, both gifts of the bridegroom.

“The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses May Jackson and Dorothy Ingall.

“Both were dressed alike in pale blue crepe-de-chine with pale pink satin belts; the dresses being trimmed with very fine lace and ninon: they wore tulle mob caps with pink and blue flowers in tiny wreaths around the caps.

“They also carried pink bouquets, and wore gold pendants, gifts of the bridegroom.

“Mr Hedley Rees acted as best man and Mr Oscar Alt as groomsman.

“After the ceremony, the party adjourned to the hall where Mrs Jackson held a reception, the breakfast being served and the usual toast honoured.

“Mrs Jackson (mother of the bride) wore a dress of dove grey silk loom with collar of floral silk and folded belt of same; black hat trimmed with black and white tulle and black osprey.

“Mrs Rees (mother of the bridegroom) wore brown striped voile with brown satin trimmings, hat to match.

“Mrs Ferris (grandmother of bride) black silk voile with cream ribbon bows…..”
