After winning the toss and sending the Cavaliers into bat , Opening bowler Codey Campbell tore through the top order of the Cavaliers, removing captain Greg Wilkins for 2 and Matthew Wharton for 0 to have the Cavaliers reeling at 4 for 9.
Ben Thorpe 11 and Paul Knox 11 steadied the innings to some extent with the Cavaliers being all out for a poor 62 on a very nice Lynch oval.
Bowling for Kings:
Cody Campbell 3-4 off four Overs and Captain Toby Shannon 2-8 off 3.4 overs.
Kings opening batsmen entered the frame full of confidence and setting up what looked to be an easy victory with an opening partnership of 33 before Luke Mepham fell on 14.
A well constructed 16 from opener Hugh Mitchell saw the Kings in command.
Darren Pithers took the ball in hand along with Brad Riley and Paul Knox and destroyed the Kings line up with Kings falling an agonising six runs shy of the winning target.
Mickey Chard was the only other Batsman to trouble the scorers with 11.
In reply Kings CC where all out for 56.

Darren Pithers 3-14 off 6 overs, Brad Riley 3-118 off 5.2 overs and Paul Knox 3-14 of four overs
Next week will see the Start of the Twenty20 competition when the Cavaliers tackle a high flying NEC Colts outfit at King George Oval and Kings will take on the reigning premiers Emmaville at Emmaville.

A sensational bowling display by Wayne Simpkins 6-16 annihilates Colts in the top of the table clash at King George Oval.
After winning the toss and electing to bat Emmaville started slowly losing two early wickets to be 2-39.
Jack Symons 66 was joined by his father and captain Andrew Symons 57, to steady the innings with a brilliant partnership of 109.
After their allotted 30 overs, the Emmaville innings came to a close with a very respectable 4/180.
Bowling for the Colts:
Matt Campion 2-23 from six overs and Jake Baker 1-32 off six overs were the pick of the Colts bowlers.
Colts innings got underway with opener Matt Campion capping off a solid game with 23. Jeff Butterworth 25 and Jake Hartmann 16 were the only other batsmen to put the scorers to any real work. The Colts were bowled out for 141, 39 runs short of their target.
Bowling for Emmaville:
Wayne Simpkins 6-16 off four overs, and new comer Brendon Reynolds 2-15 off six overs.
