Green activist and Glenn Innes teacher, Mercurius Goldstein, said: “I've read the sign carefully and it looks as though nude synchronised skateboarding should be fine.”
Col Pike said on Facebook: “It's the most inappropriate and absurd looking sign I've seen in a very long time. The people who need to be told those things won't pay any attention anyway.”
Some were more understanding of the need for the sign erected by Glen Innes Severn Council. Navanka Fletcher, originally from Glen Innes, said on the Examiner’s Facebook page that the council was protecting itself: “If people had common sense they wouldn’t have to.”
The council’s Director of Development, Graham Price, said the two-year-old signs were “consistent with similar signage in other Local Council areas”.
