Business in Glen promotion expands

The Spend in Glen promotion is to expand from next Monday to include a special competition for children aged 13 and under.

Up until now, it’s offered prizes for tickets drawn out of a barrel on Saturday. You get the ticket by spending at participating shops and businesses all over town.

But from next week, “Spot the Window” will involve businesses putting unsold items in their windows in what the organizers say will be a “relatively obvious and fairly prominent position”.

Children can tour the town spotting the items and list as many as possible. The organizers reckon it’ll be fun for parents, too.

Entry forms from and (completed) to LJ Hooker’s office.

Jim Ritchie and Maryn Burgess draw a winning ticket. But now the competion expands to offer specific prizes to children as well as grown-ups.
