Director, Shad Bailey, said there were already 85 entries in the steer and heifer sections, and that was double last year’s entry.
There is another class in the competitions – for export animals, determined by weight.
The event runs on Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16, with the Saturday devoted to junior competitions and the Sunday to the industry event. It will be “hoof and hook” with the second part judged on the Tuesday.
