Last weekend the Mackinder FEI Australian endurance riding championships were held at Red Range, over the weekend approximately 140 horses and riders completed in events ranging from 40 Kim's to 160km endurance races were the motto is to complete is to win.

Winner of the three star championship event was Ben Hudson from mud gee NSW riding Oso Edith an Arabian mare in 10hrs, 23mins and 39secs.
The youth event over the same distance was won by Andrew Mackinder son of our major sponsor Allan Mackinder on Sundown Park Cariad, in 10hrs, 22mins and 47 sec.
Andrew also took out the line honours trophy for first horse over the line in the 160km event.
The national event held in conjunction with the three star event was won by Jennifer Gilbertson of Wiseman’s Ferry, a well-known rider with over 30,000 successful kilometres of endurance riding To her credit, riding Kurrajong Shadad in 10hrs, 56mins and 34 sec.
The two star 120km event was won by Achmed Pshunov riding Matta Mia Su Al in 7hrs, 4 mins and 28 sec and taking line honours for this distance.
The corresponding youth event saw Tayla Hadzi and. Ceona citation win in 8hrs, 11 and 52 seconds.
The national 120km event was won by Simone Krahnen of Queensland on Ardai in 7hrs, 29 mins and 32 sec.
The one star event was over 90kms and Con Bousianis won on Conderossa Rassim in 4hrs, 45 mins and 58 sec, taking the line honours trophy for this distance.
Youth 90km went to Colleen Krahnen on Kalkadoon viva in 5hrs, 26mins and 32sec.
The national event went to Debbie Pevy on Burren-Dah Walter in 5hrs 53mins 42sec.
Best conditioned workouts on the Sunday morning showed many sound fit horses and perpetual trophies were awarded for the best recovering and sound horses from the top five in each division.
The weather held out until late on Saturday when a very intense electrical storm closed the vetting ring for a short time and necessitated cars going out to accompany various slower riders around the last of the 160km track, younger riders were ably assisted by older riders to come safely home through the storm.
Overall, the event was very successful with riders commenting on the great track and friendly officials and organisers of the event.
