Five boys from the Northern New England team were selected for the North West team to play in the state carnival on the July 26 to 28.
Ryan Macintyre, Kaleb Hope and Harlon McLaren from Glen Innes Public School were selected as were Will Holley and Braith Clarke from Tenterfield.
Glen Innes Public School spokesperson Marianne Bower said it was an impressive effort for the Northern New England region to have so many in the North West team.
“We are very proud of the boy’s efforts and the manner in which they played on what was a very brisk winter’s day,’ she said.
“We wish them well at the State Carnival.”
