Wells will be at the history house from at 5pm on the day.
Wells, known Australia-wide as the Emmaville Express, represented Australia at the Montreal, Moscow and Los Angeles Olympics making her one of only a handful of Australian track and field triple Olympians.
History house manager Eve Chappell said she is excited about the visit.
“She represented Australia and we are very honoured to have her as a special guest at the Museum that day,” she said.
“Some of her Olympics memorabilia also will be on display, so everyone is invited, especially sporting groups, and we ask that anyone who was in the Torch Relay in Glen Innes or who volunteered at the Sydney Olympics to come in their uniform.”
