The Kings went into bat first and looked good early against the classy Emmaville bowling attack.
Glen Innes Cricket Association spokesman Mark Jacobs said Emmaville didn’t have it all their own way during the King’s innings.
“Toby Shannon and Tom Chard batted well and they showed their teammates that Emmaville can be scored against,” he said.
“After their 20 overs, the Kings had set Emmaville a target of 134 to win.
“Being three players short I thought that might be a challenge for Emmaville.”
Jacobs said the Emmaville batsmen never looked like they were in trouble and played their normal aggressive game.
“They played like they had a full ten wickets to call upon, they played like they had no pressure on them at all,” he said.
“The Kings bowled very erratically, they bowled 23 wides.
“King’s also dropped catches which might have actually cost them the match.”
Jacobs said the Emmaville batsmen always look like they want to score big totals.
“Jack Symons played brilliantly and got 58 not out,” he said.
“He never looked like getting out, the top order of Emmavile just looks invincible at times.
Their batting is a big reason why they very rarely lose.”
Emmaville Captain Andrew Symons said he was very happy with how the team is played.
“The bowlers had a plan to be tight and our batsmen always play a naturally aggressive game,” he said.
“It was interesting setting fields with only eight fielders, it was good to get the win.”
