Peter Marshall, Kyara Mcintyre, Beth Arandale, Lilly Cooke, Cadence McShane and Mary Arandale will compete at the tournament at Scully Park on February 4 and 5.
The Area Championships will see 250 young athletes turn up and dive in with an aim of speeding through the pool to earn times fast enough to qualify for NSW Championships.
The Speedo sprints will feature 175 swimmers who will all be hoping for a top four finish.
A step onto the podium will guarantee the athletes a spot at the Championships in Sydney in March.
All six of the local swimmers will compete over the two days this weekend and are great prospects to take home medals on the day.
We wish our swimmers luck in enduring the races and the searing heat of Tamworth on the day which is expected to reach a high of 40 degrees.
