Pringle leading the way on the bowling greens

Glen Innes lawn bowls

Ian Pringle in an outstanding display of bowls this season has so far made a clean sweep of all championship events.

Currently he is champion of the open singles and has teamed up to win the pairs, triples and at the weekend playing with V Ioane, Peter Bool and Brian Orvad took out the fours title from Phil Perkins, Mick McGoldrick, Bill Newberry and Jack Nay with a scoreline of 22 shots to 14.

To Jack Nay’s team’s credit they came from a long way behind, 19-2 to make the winners a little nervous over the last few ends.

Club Mixed Pairs

At least four teams are required to make a competition in the club mixed pairs event.  Entries are being accepted at the moment with the event to be played on the 12th and 13th August.

The proposed triples event set down for August 5 and 6 has been cancelled due to the Guyra pennants team making the state finals on that date.

Social Bowls

On Sunday 14 players took part with the winners being P Hutton and J McGoldrick 13 ends, 21 shots from C Thurgate and S Hutton 8 ends 16 shots.

Other results

C Burel, T Wellington and R Rees 18 defeated M and P Ross and A Beehag 15, A Burch and R Gallagher 17 defeated G Brown and N Cameron 16.
