The RSPCA is appealing for people who love cats to help by looking after strays and animals which have been discarded. One of its volunteers, Melody Van Nistelrooy, currently has 21 cats at her own home (the older ones in a yard and the kittens inside) and she wants them to go to good homes. They’ve come from a variety of sources – people who can’t cope with the number of animals they find they find themselves with because one became many through natural processes; or because a cat-owner has grown old and gone into a nursing home; or simply because the cats have been abandoned and dumped. Melody said that you should contact the RSPCA if you want to get rid of a cat – “Don’t just dump it,” she said.   And you should also contact them (on 0432406966) if you want to volunteer to look after those which have been dumped.
