Youngsters from the six years team through to two under 12 teams played in the event on Sunday and impressed against 60 teams from the host town, Tamworth and Uralla.
“My team, we ended up missing out on the semis by one point,” under 12 twos coach Chris Wilson said.
“We ended up winning two, drew one and lost one.
“Most of the other teams drew a couple and probably only lost one per team so we didn't do too bad out there.”
Wilson said across the board, the players have grown in skills since they started attending representative events.
“Between the training and going to all the carnivals, they have improved a lot,” he said.
“They have improved out of sight.”
The teams will run out on the field again this Sunday but this time on home turf when the local association hosts their annual carnival.
Wilson hopes the success of previous carnivals will continue on with 30 teams having already expressed interest in it.
“We have Warwick coming down, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, we were hoping for a few Armidale teams but they haven't got back to us,” he said.
“Last year we had something like 2,500 people on the field, including parents and grandparents.
“A few of the Highlanders are coming down and reffing for us which is good, it's the first year they've done that.”
