There was a special presentation morning tea on Wednesday to thank local students from the public school for all their effort in raising close to $400 for the Red Cross. The young people sold “friendship bands” for a dollar a piece, with the funds going to the senior branch of the Red Cross in Glen Innes.

The Junior Red Cross in the school meets once a fortnight and holds debates and information sessions about the work of the international body around the world.
As a thank you for their work, the senior branch and the junior branch sat down and talked – and enjoyed tea and cakes as a reward for their good work.
