Glen Innes Netball: Teams brace themselves for end-of-season showdown

The competition was strong on the weekend as we near finals. In the Junior Division Magpies defeated Vixens 6-4.  MVPs were Charlotte Ellis and Edith Newberry who defended well. In a nail-biter Firebirds beat Fever 5-4. MVPs were Summer Cooper and Firebirds’ new recruit Charli Lynn.

Lightning were too strong for Thunderbirds in Intermediate Division winning 29-7. MVPs went to Louisa Beatty for her great work in the shooting circle and Amber Bryant. Swifts narrowly defeated Giants 23-19.  Sophie McCormick played well at centre court along with Maisie Eastwood and both received MVPs for their team.

In the Open Division Collingwood went down to Tavern 34-25 despite their effort on court and strong support from the sideline.  MVPs were Kristen Bailey and Jess Trow. Victorious Secrets outplayed CRT 28-7 with MVPs awarded to Emily Burton and Kristine Williamson. Panel and Paint beat Col Say & Co 37-30.  Rachel Kiehne and Carole Griffiths both received MVPs.
