Emmaville won the toss and chose to bat.
After a solid start by the two openers, a brilliant 50 not out from Ian Law and a good contribution from Tyler Johnson with 26, Emmaville finished their 30 overs on 8-155.
Luke Mepham 2-28 and Tom Macbeth 2-26 were the pick of the bowlers for the Kings.
Five early wickets for the Emmaville side saw Kings on the back foot when it was their turn to step up to bat.
Toby Shannon strode to the crease with an exceptional 56 well accompanied by Brendan Jillet with a hard hitting 48.
Kings chased hard falling an agonising 10 runs short of the reigning premiers total.
Bowling for Emmaville saw Jack Symons take 4-30 off his allotted six overs and Brock Simpkins 2-25.
Round four will see Emmaville play the Cavaliers at Emmaville and the undefeated Colts play host to the Kings at King George Oval.
