After ten weeks, 48 people find out who has lost the most.
The winner of the competition at Kings Gym on Grey Street will be announced on Friday, but the weight-losers (and the inside word is that nobody actually put weight on) have been weighing themselves for the final count.
There are no secret formulas, according to the organisers – no magic foods which actually take weight off but taste delicious. But there have been diets tailored to each person.
And hard miles of exercising on the machines at the gym. One woman has been going there five and six times a week.
Trainer, Amelia Tunamena, said one person had lost 12 kgs (the same weight as 10 full bottles of wine).
Apart from knowing you don’t have to carry around that kind of weight any more, there is a prize of a voucher at a Mantra Hotel – where the danger may be putting the weight back on.
