After more than a week, the reviews have been favourable.
Reviewer Jenny Sloman said the version which director (maths teacher) Alok Pisharody had chosen would be “instantly recognisable to audiences”.
She said the cast could “sing and dance well enough to please even the most devoted fan of the Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta era (referring to the two original stars of the 70s movie).”
“Alok Pisharody, the Artistic Director with Dylan McKean as the Musical Director and Mrs Susie Woods the Set Designer and Stage Manager have produced a show to be proud of.”
She identified cast members who stood out: Kathryn Luxfor; Eleanor Malone; Heidi McCormick; Kandyce Ellem; Tahnee Conroy; Callista Sheridan as Frenchie.”
Jenny Sloman concluded: “The principles have the looks and they can sing.”
