She draws finely with a pencil on paper, and so exact are her pictures that they almost look like photographs. She has the eye and technique of some of the old masters from centuries ago – detailed draftsmanship and punctilious observation which reveals the truth at the heart of the place or the person.
She’s one of the artists with work on display at the Gawura Gallery from December to January 7.
“I’ve always been arty,” she said. “I did a graphic design course and there was a unit which was all drawing and that’s when I started getting serious and I’ve done it ever since.”
The gallery is owned by Lloyd and Wendy Hornsby and it displays his work alongside those of other guest artists (of whom Sarah is one).
Wendy Hornsby said: “This is a nice space and we want to encourage people.”
