On the Saturdays and some Thursdays before Christmas, TSG (the Shop in Glen as it’s known locally) staged a venue for kids to have their pictures taken with Santa and his Elf.
They paid $10 a go and the money went to the RSPCA and to Rotary.
Rotary said it would spend the $2,000 it got on programmes for young people in the area. One priority is a leadership programme.
Rotary member, Gary te Velde, said: “Santa and the Elf would like to thank Rebecca and Peter Davis and their marvelous staff for their generous contribution in both time and materials.
“Their efforts have helped very good causes. And they’ll be local causes.
Rotary’s leadership programmes for young people involve camps which through mentoring and discussion aim to help mold them into good citizens.
