The two horses he said would pose the biggest threat finished first and second – with only 0.1 length separating them when they hit the finish line.
“There's a few good chances there, Mishani Stealth, he won the race in Armidale that we got beaten in first up, Devlann has won three of his last four and was only beaten by a couple of lengths at Randwick and he is going to get in on the minimum so he is going to be hard, there's a few there looking strong,” Cunningham told The Examiner last week.
“It is nice to win your local Cup and we have won it the last three years so law of averages we are probably going to get beaten this year.”
