Under the headline on its Facebook page, it’s urging women to take advantage of a mobile screening vehicle in the car park of the Visitor Centre.
It says the organisation Breastscreen has asked it to help spread the word.
The council plea reads: “These "B" words have a great friend in another "B" word and that's BREASTSCREEN. The mobile service is at Glen Innes in the Visitor Centre carpark and Council encourages all ladies particularly in the 50 to 74 year age group, to go along and get this done. The friendly and professionally team will make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed. You can just roll up or make a booking by calling 13 20 50.
Don’t delay, do this NOW!”
Experts are emphatic that breast screening makes cancer much more detectable and much more treatable if detected.
Not getting it done can be fatal.
