Armidale’s under 12 representative cricket side scraped a victory against Narrabri on Sunday after nearly throwing it away. The win put them in the frame to land a spot in the Northern Inland grand final but a loss would have cost them.

“They went into the last 20 overs with a 124 run-lead and needing four wickets and it came down to Narrabri needing six runs off two overs. Luckily Mitch Duddy took a great catch on the boundary and saved the day,” coach Jerome Simpson said. Jack Hedges, Jack Lockyer and Clancy McDermott stole the show with the bat as Armidale won 9-193 to Narrabri’s 10-188.
They play Moree in two weeks time and will be in the decider if they win.
